Introductory text
Citroën presented a challenge to its young ZX: attract Chinese drivers. Because of the joint venture signed with Dongfeng, it rolled out initially in 1992 under the name Fukang. A preliminary experiment for the Brand, which resulted in a success!
In 1998, an elongated version (4 doors plus boot) joined it: the Fukang 988. After that, it was updated again, with a new front, interior elements borrowed from the Xsara, and was renamed the Elysée in 2003. For luxury lovers, there was the Elysée VIP, the limousine variation – elongated at the centre post.
In 2008, the C-Elysée brought significant new remodelling to the Asian ZXs, to both the boot and the tailgate. They were replaced by a completely new model under the same name in 2012.
